I feel that my first Ferrari should be a 348...due to price considerations and the "feel" of non PS and heavier shifter ( I actually drove this car and loved it!).

I know that the 348 is down about 70 hp to the 355, and about 40 lb-ft of torque, but what can be done to make it handle as well, at least grip wise??

Perhaps installing a challenge kit will do the job? I read in FORZA that a 348 Challenge race car will outlap a 355/360 on the track!

Not trying to outdo a 355.....just prefer the driving feel, and want that extra performance. Not going to cry about the power difference since neither is a 12 cylinder!

Now, if someone has a way to delete the power steering off the 355 in a kosher way, and make the shift action more vintage.....I'd have to take that car then!

In my opinion, the 348 has plenty of power "as is". Considering how tricky the handling is, I don't need any more ft/lbs or hp in this thing. I LOVE the steering feedback in my 348. Except at very low speeds, the steering is just about perfect.

A faster or more torquey 348 seems like a recipe for more tail-end swapping.
