I buy first and most of the time she does not notice but if she does its better to beg forgiveness then ask permission...as my wife has always said better a 4 wheeled toy then a two legged toy ...that plus since I mostly prefer used cars I have made a profit on most but not all cars..

I sent her a photo from the rally drive where one of the gents let me drive his beautiful black 1989 Testarossa up a mountain road, in the wet of all things! I think we were both white knuckled, for different reasons. I told her it was fabulous. Her response:

"We don't need another car in the courtyard at the house or hidden in the factory."

I showed her response to the fellows on the drive. One of them said, "Who said anything about hiding it? Put it on display!"

Okay, an update: Those of you who saw my post two years ago, "How do I justify a Ferrari to my wife?" will know about the email I sent to her, ending in "Love hubby", then 10 carriage returns before "P.S. I bought a Ferrari." which she did not notice. I bought the car then told her 6 months later, referring to the email, which she subsequently searched for, with a, ahem, "mixed response". I said "You never read my emails..."

Anyway, the storm blew over and some time later, all was well.

But I decided today to, ahem, try it again :)

I booked flights for the two of us to the US next month. It's a long flight. 15 hours. I paid for upgrades to lie flat business, but it is all wait list based. This morning I got an email saying that she had been upgraded. I knew she would be excited. So I forwarded the email from United. With a P.S. in there. ;-) She responded. See both emails below ;-)
