    Hi, I'm surprised I didn't find this anywhere in a search (at least the question, if there's an answer or not!)...

    I've got a 308 with crazing, both some bigger stuff and some that's more like tiny little examples, I actually thought these little ones were some kind of chemical that had attacked the paint or something until i looked at it really closely.

    So the question of the moment is if there's anything I can do to minimize the appearance of the crazing? I assume you can't compound the stuff out (I'm working on getting all the scratches out that I put in today trying!), would using one of these color-matched waxes help? Or do I just make sure there's no white wax residue left when I'm done and deal with it?

    <sigh>

    Crazing seems to be the word used to describe an affliction suffered by many of our cars from what I can tell, certainly many 308s, where the paint develops what looks like cracks. Maybe someone else can describe what the mechanism is at work (I think it's a matter of thermal expansion as the car's sheetmetal and paint heat & cool) and why the heck it would be called that!

    In the end it looks like a lot of spider web-ish cracks in the paint. :(

    Meguiar's have a pretty thorough web site and may address this "crazingness." Call 'em and talk to a live tech and see what they suggest.

    My experience with these guy's is they are very dedicated to all aspects of car care.
