    I don't know.......

I usually try to find the file listed in the source code and create a direct link and use save as. I couldn't find it in the code on this page.

Use WM Recorder V10.2  You can download a free demo version of WM Recorder which will record up to 2 minute files, but for something longer than that you will need to buy the program or find something else.

You need to get the URL for the actual video when it comes to clips on Streetfire.net. This is a bit of a pain, but not impossible.

Here's a detailed explanation - let me know if you get lost at any point:

To get to the actual URL I right-clicked on the video on the Streetfire page and selected "Properties". I copied the URL listed and using message forum I pasted that link into a post, then did a right-click and selected "Save Target As..." on it, which saved a file to my computer called "buildasx.htm".

I opened that file with Notepad and copied just the URL from that which is contained in quotes. Then I pasted that URL into the website and again did the "Save Target As..." trick on that URL which saved a file called "above.asx" to my computer.

Once again I opened that file with Notepad and copied the URL from that file. This is essentially the pointer to the video which I then popped into the WM Recorder program and it allowed me to save the file on my harddrive as a .ASF.

Not a quick or simple process, but it works for me. If someone else can simplify it please let me know.

Google Video uses Macromedia Flash encoding and I don't know a trick for stealing those in a similar fashion. Many of those files do have a download option on the Google Video page to save the file in .GVP format. I assume you can then store and watch the file multiple times using a downloaded version of the Google Video Player. I have yet to attempt this to be certain it works as I'm suggesting, but I'm pretty sure I am correct.

For Google Video you can use Techsmith Camtasia which records the screen. All you do is draw a box on the screen in the area that you want to record and press the button. You can save in various formats. Or if you want you can just download the Google Video Player.

Hmm, WM Recorder doesn't seem to work too well.

I put the URL in the box and press record, but it never seems to finish.

Ok, got WM Recorder to work. It's a shame it only records for 2 minutes...

Someone had posted this link on another forum and it looks really interesting but I couldn't get it to work with google or streetfire for some reason. The cool feature is that it let's you try this on various sites.

Either way, interesting site when it does work. I didn't really try it out thoroughly but check it out.

That won't work with the videos I linked to above because there is no URL that I can find for them.

Take a look and you'll see what I mean.
