Hey guys I know this is off topic and not Ferrari but I'm looking at a 2014 Panamera with a salvage title from 2018. It's quite nice runs well but the dealer doesn't have specifics and the Carfax just says "non accident salvage title" with no other information. Is there a way to dig a little deeper and find out information? I wouldn't mind if it had been stolen or a light accident but certainly not lemon or flood. Any advice greatly appreciated. I'm kind of surprised the dealer is not willing to dig deeper and provide information and certainly I would never touch it without knowing.

Dealer probably knows or can find only what is on the Carfax or Autocheck, but if the car has been registered, running and serviced since 2018 you are probably OK. Carfax will give you location history, if it's a coastal car it may have been a saltwater flood. I have bought 3 salvage/rebuilt cars, two were flood, but fresh water. I Googled the location of the car at the time, date and "flood" and discovered flash floods in Nevada and Florida where the cars were at the time. They are Jeeps so I figured a freshwater flood was a muddy power wash lol. In 2015 I bought a 2005 911S cabriolet, 6 spd. manual with a murky salvage/rebuilt title from Washington state 2 years prior, had it shipped to Florida and it was great, saved me $15K and still going strong.

Where was the car in 2018 and when exactly was it branded according to Carfax? Does Porsche have any service records around that time?

Sometimes you can match a time and place to a weather event in the news.
