How come Ferrari never tried to do a V-16 back in the day?

    VW Groups' W16 is a marvel of packaging. A simple V16 would be too long and heavy. It amazes me that the VR6 lead to a W12 and W16. Some bright engineers there.

    Considering the complexity, it's pretty amazing that we still have V12's. It's a testament to the perfection of the configuration.
