I wonder why Ferrari made the F12 instead of a 512bb type replacement. I love mid-engined cars and a flat or v12 mid engine new Ferrari would be nice. Plus, that new european pedestrian law now requires front engine cars to have high (ugly in my opinion) front ends and mid engine cars are exempt. A 458 looking car with a 12 would be so nice. Maybe such a car could co-exist with the F12.

Testarossa was the last one, m version.

I guess they decided staying with the super car ultimate f1 type car it should be the Enzo and Enzo replacement.

I suspect one day we will see a rear 12 again.... But no mention of it yet....or. It could go the way of the doo doo bird, and carbs , and never to be seen again.

    Bon voyage Chris !

A front-mid engine car provides much more practical packaging, and with today's technology there is no performance penalty. That is why.

If you squint your eyes shut to hide the styling, cover your ears to hide the sound of the flat crank V8, and sing tra-la-la-la-la at the top of your voice.

I'd love to see a mid engined Flagship Ferrari V12 that would be sold alongside the F12berlinetta and compete with the Aventador.

You'll get your wish at Geneva, hope you have deep pockets. It won't compete with the Aventador, though, or more accurately the Aventador won't (be able to) compete with it.

You're referring now to the Enzo replacement aren't you? If so that's a different and much more expensive line of Ferrari altogether.

    I thought that the 275GTB/4, 365 GTB/4, 365 GT4 BB, 512BB, 512BBi, Testarossa, 512TR, F512M, 550 Maranello, 575M, 599 GTB Fiorano and F12berlinetta were the Flagship line???

Flagship | Define Flagship at Dictionary.com

    4. the best or most important one of a group or system

There is no doubt that the new car will be both the best and most important Ferrari. It will also be a mid v12 and sold alongside the F12. Seems to meet all of your criteria.

I do know what the word "Flagship" means. However the line I referred to above I'm sure is the Flagship Ferrari line. There was the limited series, exotic line or supercar-hypercar that comprise the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and now the F70.

See here where the 599 GTB is referred to as the Flagship just to demonstrate. Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To that point, how would you have 2 cars as the flagship at the same time as you proposed (alongside F12)?

In years where there is no supercar, the v12 is usually the flagship, but for the year or two they are made, the supercars are the flagship of the brand. In any case, there will be a mid engined v12 Ferrari at Geneva, so who cares what it's designated? They still make them and do so every 8-10 years for a couple of years at a time.

Ya when I wrote this I didn't mean an Enzo or F50 type mid engine 12 that is a special edition. I meant an everyday mid engine 12 like the 512bb. I personally have never been a huge fan of the Testarossa.

Well, they currently make a front v8 2+2, front v12 2+2, mid v8 sports car, front v12 sports car and are introducing a mid v12 supercar. I'm not seeing much room for another car to fit between the 458, f12 and f70.

They should have made a production model like Clapton's one off 458 but with a 12 in it instead of the F12.
