How did you find Fchat?

When I think it was Larry Michaels(old user) crashed his car, Benjet(old user#2) was at my work telling me about it and used my work computer to show me the pics. This was obviously a long ass time ago and I lurked for a month or so before I started posting.

I was driving my first Ferrari on an 850 mile trip from the dealer and during the trip I made a gas stop...An 18 kid asked me if he look at the car and i said sure...He started telling me how much he loved Ferrari's and asked me if I go on Ferrarichat.com....So when I got home I checked it out...

Short Answer : Some dude at a gas station in Kentucky told me about it about 1am while checking out my Ferrari.

Damned if I can remember.

But my old boss thought he could reprimand me for spending 5 minutes a day on F-chat, when I was working 12 hour days and every day of the week for months.

I'll be sure to remind him of that when I roll up in my F-car and let him know that it was me who put him out of business... I hope you're reading this, sucker!

I'm pretty sure i found the site while following links at nsxprime.

 

I was a www.TomYang.net junkie and in that forum, somebody cross-posted an alert to look out for a stolen vintage V-12 engine.

I followed the link to the FerrariChat post and, it all went downhill from there.

BTW, any nooobs who have any interest at all in vintage V-12 Ferrari GTs, your homework is to go to tomyang.net and read about Tom's 330 America restoration. We'll see you in a few weeks when you've read all of it.

 

Typed "Ferrari 348" and "Ferrari 330 GTC"

- lurked, joined 3 other ferrari sites - was quite bored in 2 - "got over" what I perceived to be a hokey logo while gaining insights into what made F-Chat tick, stopped lurking - only lurk around Tom Yang's site now and again.

 

I had an MR2 Spyder and frequented spyderchat.com. I made an educated guess that other sites existed with the semantic structure of (marque)chat.com.

Sure enough, ferrarichat.com worked.

Someone mentioned it in an email to the old FerrariList. That was about the time that the signal-to-cLyDe ratio went negative, and so I ended up here. I think that was 2000 or maybe early 2001 sometime, lurked for about a year before signing up.

A mod should really add another choice to this poll... FerrariChat has advertisements in Forza, Cavallino, Prancing Horse, etc and it's possible some folks found FC that way.
