How did you run it and what fuse box did you use and fuse location? Im running a valentine one and want to get rid of the cigarette hook up for a cleaner look in my 430. If you have photos that would be great.

The easiest way by far is with the OBD connector sold by Valentine. It snaps onto the OBD plug just under the dash on the right of the steering wheel. Run telephone wire through gap at top of winshield and winshield frame, down left A-pillar under the rubber seal then to under the dash. 2 pull ties to clean up any wire hanging down under the dash. Totally invisible and takes all of 20 minutes- all of that is used to make sure the wires are all hidden correctly.
The V-1 goes on with ignition.

caveat- if you hook your car up to a battery tender it feeds the V-1 , and after you disconnect to go for a drive the V-1 will stay on the next time you turn the ignition off for some reason. Just unplug-replug the OBD adapter( you can do it blindly- dont have to crawl under the dash) and the V-1 will go to off until ignition starts it again.

Its really easy so try it and good luck.

Thanks. I had not figured out why my V1 was not turning on and off wth the ignition. This is the answer.

I ran the hardwire from the visor through the A pillar trim. I then found a wire that was 'hot' under the dash and tapped into it. 20 minutes..... done!

While not a Ferrari, I tapped into the map lights on my 4Runner and mounted it to the rear view mirror using a blend mount. Took maybe 15 minutes to do and works great.

What do mean by tapped into? Splicing and soldering onto the existing map light wire?

I bought a kit from eBay that makes it really easy. I ordered it with the t-tap rather than the fuse tap so I could pull power from the map lights. The t-tap makes it so you don't have to splice and solder anything. Just clamp the tap down and ground the wire and you're done.

Just use the same aluminum piece as the rear. Bent it, painted black and added some Velcro.

I hard wired to power connection on the clock unit above the mirror. There is switched power and ground wires. I also made a metal bracket that mounts under the driver visor "C" clip. Another way is to use the unit in front of the clock pod using the suction cups on the glass. And then use the remote display unit down on the console. It kinda looks clunky but it tucks behind the visor mount and the driver can view the display very well. The display is not visable from the rear window. I also upgraded the dome lamp from the 640 ma. bulb to a LED that outputs a whiter color and draws 120 ma. Good Luck!

I used the radar-mirror, and installed the V1 above the courtesy lights ... they guy who runs the small operation in Dallas (Scott Wheeler) sent me a mirror with the display, and for $50 added Homelink. The 430 mirror was also used on an older BMW 7 series, so it doesn't cost Ferrari prices. I love the install, unfortunately, I now have a 458 on order, and there isn't enough room above the mirror/courtesy lights, he's gone to a behind the bumper install, which seems less than optimal.
