Before I get flamed about using the search feature, I've tried to search this but with no luck. I want to know how many silver 308s were produced. And if possible how many per each year.

    Thanks

    Hi,

...if not already, register with www.owners.ferrari.com.....

Submit your question to customer care.....I received several responses (about 2-3 weeks after submission) concerning my car......give it a shot!

They get asked about this by every other person that has bought a used 308 over the last 20 years.

    Is the color that important?

    Just enjoy your new toy!

When I first purchased mine, I was also curious. Ferrari was no help. Its like they never kept records. GM and Ford and every other auto maker has better records on every car made since the beginning of time. I don't get it. Shouldn't they know? No records?? Check the 308 registry. That is a good start.

The guy I bought my car from told me that Ferrari only set 13 yellow GTS models to the U.S. in 1978. I've got no idea where he got that statistic; when I mentioned it at the local dealer they just laughed. Still, it sounds official enough that I sometimes use it on folks that haven't studied Ferrari production history. But I'd really like to know the truth, if its out there...

I'm told that mine is 1 of 25 Black on Black shipped to the USA in 1989. And I also believe that mine is the last black on black made. I've yet to be proven wrong. So the truth is...I really don't know. There are only three on FChat.

You Know, it is a good question, I've have a 1986 328 with a very early serial number and production date of late 1985 and it has a Boxer finish red over black. I have seen 308's like that but I have never seen another 328 with a Boxer finish and I would love to know how many were done and when that option became unavailable.

I believe Ferraris records are on bits of that old-fashioned stuff called paper! I was told they only have one guy working on scanning the build sheets etc. which is why it takes them a while when they are requested via the owners' site. Bear in mind Ferrari are a) a very small company compared to Ford and GM and don't have the resources to deal with large volumes of inquiries with alacrity b) Italian!!! If I remember rightly Joanne Marshall (who is responsible for the Owners' site) told me last year that there are only three people in her department.

Still, with Ferrari, getting there is all part of the fun and that goes for trying to establish information as well as driving the cars:D

My 348 is one of only two RHD black GTB's in the country. Mine also has grey interior which I'm led to belive was quite unusual.

I'd love to know who has the other one. :D

Ahhhhh! Finally someone who sees my point. Perhaps if I could get the build sheet that would shed some light? I will check out the registry again. It's been a while since I looked on there.

I think that when your really into something you want to find out everything you could. I own buildings in NYC and the Boroughs. Some of them are old. When I purchased them, I try to find out the complete history. Who lived there. Anybody famous? Who was the architect? Humans are curious people. I feel that when we stop asking questions, then, we are either too old to know or we are dead. Also if your into classic Ferrari's then you usually have done your homework on the model that your interested in. After you purchase it, you then try to find out everything about that particular model. I think its just natural to seek infomation about something that is your passion. "Knowledge is the key to Success".

I wanted to know all the same things. I found out there are like 73 white 328 gts all years. Broken down to 40 or so white tan and w/r, w/b, w/blue, w/w and so on. I don't remember the gtb #'s, but its very low. I can tell you but it will cost me my life.

    Please PM.

Hey, from what I hear, my 77 308 is 1 of only 2 produced that year with a very rare Red exterior and tan interior.

I'd really like to see a picture of your car,the 328. I don't recall ever seeing a 328 with the Boxer Black trim.
