Please don't tell me to talk to the local dealer, they wouldn't even talk to me when I was buying a 328. Does someone have a contact at FNA or somewhere else that can help me out?

    Thanks

I receive ROSSA although I didn't specifically go looking for a subscription. I can only guess it happened in one of two ways:

    1. I became a member of www.owners.ferrari.com.
    2. One of the good folks at FoCFL where I purchased the car made it happen.

Here's how I did it....your results may vary....

(They DID knock me to the floor with the written request, on FNA letterhead, for detail on Valeria's car 'purchase' however...)

I typed a nice letter to them 'mentioning' I was the 'long time owner' of VIN #(your VIN here) and with it included the copies of the Original Warranty Coupon book......and said I would very much like to receive the publication and cited the somewhat sporadic newstand presence of same....

(It's published by the same company as Road & Track and I suppose they 'dump' the unused copies)

Do you have the Coupon Book, Tillman??? It's important to emulate a sale from the Authorized Dealer Network. I mentioned Ron Tonkin in my letter....

Anyway the trouble is you can never move! As they share some sort of database between the publisher and FNA for the mailing list. It takes FOREVER, as in maybe NEVER to make a revision to your info....sorry, it doesn't look like I have a name with FNA ......

Any deal with an Authorized Dealer should start it, as you've noted...

Tillman, I think TigerAce gets multiple copies because of his several car deals thru Dallas dealer........

They found me. I assume they did a DMV search for Ferrari owners. A friend of mine that has been a judge at Pebble Beach for many years tried to get a subscription and was told it was for owners only. That was several years back, they might have lightened up a little since then.

It used to be sold on newstands for $10 as well as the free subscription from FNA. Don't know if they will start public sales up again now that publication has re-started (published by the same company that does Car&Driver and R&T).

There are only two ways to get the magazine for free from FNA that I am aware of....buy a car from an authorized FNA dealer, or fax a copy of your vehicle registration with a request to FNA offices in New Jersey.

I did the fax method shortly after buying my 78 308 GTS from a private seller back in 2000. I think I may have inadvertently dropped off their list at one point, but re-faxed a request when I upgraded to a 87 328GTS in 2002. I thought I got dropped again in early 2005 but when I called them to inquire, they had a record of my purchase of a 355 spider from Ferrari of Seattle and said it must have been a mistake, and they immediately mailed me a current issue.

I did this a few days ago: Just phone FNA and ask to speak to the lady who handles Rosso Ferrari. She will ask that you send an email (or a fax or letter) with your name, address, Ferrari VIN, and date of purchase. That's it. When I did it, she kindly mailed me the current issue immediately. (Don't have her name handy, but the FNA operator will direct you.)
