    Yep.

    Need to remove them.

Can't figure it out, and I don't want to bugger them up.

Gently pry?? Rotate CW or CCW?

    So, what's the trick??

And yes, I know they have to come off the car first!! :D

Don't pry. Don't twist. Bite the bullet and pull the wheel. Section of broom handle or anything similar can pop them out. Just use something large and soft as a punch and hit it with a light hammer.

Wheels are off, no tires on them. Want to mix and match my new wheels (courtesy of Jon (omgjon)), which are in much better shape than my old ones, with some of my old caps.

To do that, I ahve to get the caps off the wheels.

I'll try tapping from behind with the rubber mallet and broom stick.

    Stay tuned.

    Dave,

I'm a little confused... there are notches cut out in the wheels that allow you to remove the center caps with a very minimal effort using a screw driver. I tape the flat screw driver to avoid scatches. Actually you should be able to use the wheel lug nut tool with a twisting action... Is this what you mean or do you want to remove the actual "dino" enamel badge?

Going from the inside you run the risk of braking the center portion of the cap which is brazed on.

I always take the caps off before removing the lug nuts for fear of scatching the black paint off or the crome.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

    Pietro

Center cap. Not the dino badge.

These have been on the wheels a LOOOOOONG time.

Tried a screwdriver with tape first. I couldn't get them to budge.

Finally used a cut off hockey stick, with a rag wrapped on the end and a rubber mallet. One good rap on the backside, and off they came!

No amount of prying got them loose. They actually had some rust on them where they contacted the wheel, which may have made it a little more difficult.
