    2006 430 Coupe F1 with updated headers.

I have noticed some weird rattle noise (sound like a bunch of empty beer cans hitting each other in a bag) when I start my car, when I accelerate up to 2nd (F1) and I think when slowing down.

Also, off the line, the car does not seem to engage as it used to.

I had the headers replaced about 1000 miles ago already....is it possible they went bad again?

    Thanks.....

If you are talking about a 430, it sounds like the problem is downstream from the headers. The leaks are actually difficult to hear at first at least and do not sound like a rattle.
So far, I have not heard of any failures of the updated headers.

Perhaps the exhaust brackets broke. They will continually break over time because of their fixed attachment.

Off the line engagement sounds like a different issue, more clutch related.

I had the exhaust tips on my F430 replaced twice. When they broke, they sounded like ball bearings in a coffee can. This may be what you're hearing on your car.

When it's in for service, they can check your headers for cracks.

When my F430 was in for it's last fluid service, they swapped out both headers as well.

    My car is an '07.

If you have cracked headers you will hear a clicking sound. The worse the crack the louder the clicking. Sounds like your issue is exhaust brackets.

check the brackets first. look for a rust stain and look close for the crack or loose/broken clamp . dont think it is a cracked tip/pipe but look . youll need to remove the bumper. you might see it with a mirror . forza

It could be many, many things rattling back there. Could be cat heat shields with a broken weld. Could be loose flange bolts. Could be loose bay covers. The undertray could be hanging off...get it to a tech who knows what to look for and avoid Internet conjecture...

I was told by the tech at ferrari that if you have a chrack in the headers you will definatly notice it... aparently it is much louder sound and it dosent sound good... but I agree with what everyone else has been saying that it is an exhaust bracket.

As above, more likely exhaust brackets as they are known to crack. I had a rattle at start up as well and my bracket was cracked, and some welds on my Tubi tips had cracked. The rattle was gone after both of those were replaced.

I had a lot of rattling at idle, I also has almost zero power when accelerating from a stop.... Almost like it was in the Ferrari limp mode.

I also kept getting CELs related to fuel problems and misfires... It was all due to the headers being cracked

Eddie is right. There are way too many things making noises to identify a leak that way. The sure way to identify even a minor leak is by "smoke testing" the exhaust system. Bring the car to someone with the right equipment and you'll soon know the answer.

This 355 had leaks at exhaust flanges, the headers were fine.

    I concur.

I have not picked up my car yet, but it appears the problem has been solved.

I was told the outer surround of the exhaust tips were rattling and all the tips have been replaced. This was done under my POWER warranty.

Has anyone else had this problem?
