I am interested in putting an order in for the upcoming 430 spider. I live in the UK. However I am intersted in buying a LHD 430 spider and was wondering if anyone can suggest to me which is the best place/dealer I need to contact to put my order in.

You'll need an address in the country of the dealership and Euro 20,000. If you don't have an address then best to approach people like Victor at Belgo Exports who could well have nearly new or places in queues.

I think Holland is the cheapest. You may even be able to get a RHD car. You'll effectively be top of th RHD list over there. Ton might be able to put you in touch with a dealership there.

    Cheers

Gonna be quite a difficult job though. First 430 Spiders are scheduled for delivery spring 2006 and honestly I don't think the dealers are too happy for exporting the small allocation they already have. Priority goes to the local markets, don't forget that there's more demand than there's supply.... Excisting clientèle gets first choice.

I think it would be better to contact your London based dealer and order a LHD from him.

I think that you can order one at any Ferraridealer and pick it up when it is delivered. Nobody will care where you go with the car! Just go there, dump some cash and wait (for a looooong time!)

You right about that but think about this: an average official Fdealer maybe only gets 10 Spiders scheduled for him for the year 2006. He can sell those 10 cars easily to already excisting customers and they always get priority. Makes sense of course because of previously build up relationship and aftersales / service. It's a new product and there's no stock!!

Many thanks for the suggestions guys. I tried emailing Belgo exports three times but they never got back to me. Perhaps I will try my Local F-Garage to see if they can do a LHD. I take your point about the dealers in Europe favouring their own customers though.

    Regards

I think you can order one with the help of Maranello Sales as they have a tie in with Garage Francorchamps in Belgium(same owners I believe), I know of somebody else did this and posted on here

I would suggest you do a search of the various Ferrari Authorised Dealers and contact them individually. Netherlands and Belgium will probably be the cheapest.

They will all probably have orders already in, and some may not take anymore orders. But you may find one that has a position left, or is willing to take a letter of intent.

They cannot refuse to take your order on the basis you are not a resident in the country. If any do, report it to Ferrari and threaten to contact the EU, you may then be able to use this as leaverage to get on the list.

    Good luck.
