I went back to Paris and picked up my old hard drives that were sitting in storage since 2006. I think they are PCI. How can i hook them up to my current PC? Is there a USB converter?

I made a thread about this a few years ago, but can't find it.

I don't remember they type of connector my harddrive was/is, but I went to the local computer store and told them what I wanted and they led me to a $20 USB adapter that's plug n' play.

Not PCI, most likely IDE (see picture attached for the kind of cable we're talking about). Depending on how you want to use them:

    a) Build in the computer -> IDE/SATA adapter
    b) External drive -> IDE/USB adapter or case

Yes, that's it. I will want to use as an external drive ( i just want to grab my old pics). I will google for an IDE/USB adapter.

    Thanks!

If you just want to use it once to recover your data, the one you picked is fine. If anyone would like to keep their drives and use them, I'd recommend a case for it with those chips already built in.
