OK, I've looked in other threads and even at my hinges, but I can't see how I can adjust the door in regards to height. It seems that when the door is closing it is a bit low so the guide pin needs to lift it a bit just as it's closing. This means I have to slam the door harder than I'd like.

How can I raise the door at the latch area so it's not so hard to close. Adjusting the B-pillar catch isn't the answer since the alignment is perfect when closed. Do I need to get into the door at the hinges?

    Thanks all!

It adjusts where the hinge mates to the body uprights, behind the trim plate with the light switches in it.

Hinge pin wear may be factor also.

I looked there, but it appears to only adjust in the way that would either bring the bottom of the the door out, or tuck it in...y'know, in that direction. Am I wrong? Can this area somehow be used to raise the strike end of the door as well?

The "official" way (from old service bulletins) is to put a long board under the door and, using a fulcrum, try to bend things upward. However, I wouldn't try that..........

If it's similar to a GT4 (and I'm guessing it is), you need to remove the lower hinge and shim it. It can be a bit of a problem, as the bolts are a bit soft and can get screwed up removing them. Also, a little shim goes a long ways. Try cutting them from a (used) beer can.

Before doing that, try new hinge pins. Some have reported that is all that was needed.

Thanks. I suspected the hinge pins at first, but they are tight. I lift the door and there's no movement, so I don't see a problem there, plus adjusting is always simpler. I'll consider what you suggested.

    Thanks!
