Pull the vacuum lines off at the valves. They come right off. Plug the lines to prevent vacuum loss and secure them. You may want to put covers over the nipples on the valves where the line plugs in just to keep debris out of the valves.

You can also install an exhaust bypass valve controller if you want to easily toggle between open and closed. Otherwise they will remain open at all times if you plug the vacuum lines.

Some people have merely disconnected the vacuum solenoid valves, but if do that on the 430 the ECU will record DTCs (Diagnostic Test Codes) that will show up when a technician puts an SD3 on it. Not a big deal, but by plugging the vacuum lines you avoid that. This is not a problem on the 360.

When I had my F430, I'd do this from time-to-time. I used black golf tees to plug the hoses and I found these little rubber caps that fit the "nipples" perfectly.

I liked the louder sound from time-to-time, but it can drone on so I drove this way about half the time.

I'm curious. If the vacuum lines are disconnected and plugged the valves remain open? I was under the impression that at low rpm's low vacuum pressure valves were closed and exhaust was going thru muffler, and that at high rpm's high vacuum pressure increases and valves were open bypassing muffler. Please feel free to educate me on this.

Starting with the 360, the exhaust bypass valves default to open when no vacuum is applied to the valve actuator. When you start the car, the vacuum solenoid valve allows vacuum to pass to the valve and the valve closes. It remains closed till you reach about 4000 RPM (give or take). At that point, the ECU will control the vacuum solenoid to release the vacuum to the exhaust bypass valve and the spring in the actuator opens the valve.

If you plug the vacuum line or disconnect the vacuum solenoid valve, you are in effect preventing vacuum being applied at any engine speed so the bypass valve stays open all the time.

So, it is not a question of low vacuum or high vacuum. The vacuum solenoid valve is simply an open or closed valve. No low or high vacuum. Just vacuum or atmospheric pressure.

Get a valve controller and you'll be much happier. You won't want it loud all the time and there is some droning at certain RPMs.

Do a google search for forza compenenti for a reasonably priced controller. There are installation pics on the website.

Joe, with the engine cover open look down and you will see the valves, one on each side of the muffler. They are silver and have a small black hose connected on the top portion of the valve. Easy to reach in and pull the hose off and plug.

Once you disconnect them, you can plug them with screws.

Do u need to block the valve nipples as well as the tubes?

If you remove the vacuum lines from the exhaust bypass valves, just plug the line with something handy. A golf tee works well, or a small screw. You may want to put a small clamp around it to hold it in place. The nipple on the valve does not need to be plugged, but many people do to prevent debris from getting in. A piece of tubing that is heat tolerant might do the trick ... plug that end of the tubing as well.

Can I just unplug one side I'm getting a rattling and I'm not sure if it's the exhaust tip or if this valve could rattle

it will rattle even if you unplug it. Some here have added a small spring to the valve actuator lever which prevents the rattle. Rattling noise in F430 during low revs ... What is it? (Video)

Thanks for the tip. I didn't have black tees handy and I was too lazy to spray paint these, on top it's absolutely invisible from outside. Of course when you know it's there you still think about painting the damn tees sooner or later
