I had the same problem. You just need to get one of these.... https://www.fillernecksupply.com/1963-1976-mopar-b-body-fuel-tank-grommet-filler-neck-seal/

Or search my thread about gas pump problems. The gas pump nozzle doesn't quite reach far enough into the FF filler, thus not triggering the flow switch of the gas pump nozzle. You can trigger it with your hand or get this simple device. It solved my problem instantly.

Thanks. Just ordered it. Does the grommet just sit on top of the opening for the gas (not sure what it’s called)?

Yes, the grommet just sits on top of your gas filler opening between the nozzle. It just allows the nozzle to go further deeper and engages the nozzle switch (which you don't see). I had this problem and I drove around to different stations trying to fill it. I was like WTF is with this car??? With this gas guzzler, I was worried I couldn't even make it to the dealer if I couldn't put gas in it! This will solve your problem.

Does the grommet need to be glued or fixed to the opening? Or simply friction holds it in place.

Really need a heads up on this when getting an FF.

On a separate but related note, I have issues filling the tank on my 430 scuderia, similar to what I notice with FF but not as bad. With the scud, I push the gas nozzle in and can only pump for a second and then it stops. I can only press the lever slightly and it will sloooowly fill up. Takes forever, but at least I can get gas in whereas FF gas wouldn’t even come out.

Wonder if it’s the same thing in the scud and the grommet will also fix that issue.

I think it's probably a similar issue with all Ferraris as I think they use the same parts/filler neck for many of their cars. You just put the grommet on when you fill it. Just keep it in your car/glove box and only use it when you fill up. Buy another one for your Scud. Problem should be solved.

I need to look at the gas pump closely next time to see where that sensor is.

Papou, get an old milk crate. That’ll reduce the likelihood of the propane tank rolling around.

The key to that recommendation is an “old” milk crate.
