    Ver interesting!

Carbon thanks for the tip on print screen!

Did a test here it is... no wait wrong photo from wrong folder:)

The second photo shows how I organize my Maserati Khamsin Registry database:

Since each chassis number starts with AM120 followed by three numbers for left and right hand drive cars or with AM120US followed by four numbers for US spec cars I just call each folder K followed by the three or four relevant numbers.

Until recently and somewhat stupidly I had the text files amongst my documents and the photo folders amongst the photos so a few weeks ago I actually relocated each car's text file into its photo folder: makes a lot more sense.

I find the idea of putting the date at the start of the file's name interesting but have not felt the need for that so far.

As of this nanosecond I have 11989 photos in my computer plus whatever I have in my back up device which I keep in a separate house in case of fire, lightning, burglary: my laptop got destroyed at 2am by lighting a couple of days after I returned form the Maranello auction in May but not only did I have 95% in the back up device but the new material was actually retrieved from the hard disk.

    best regards,

    Marc

Sometimes I put an owners name at the end of the folder name but usually not.

Regarding 30 years of paper photos I went through them about two years ago, indexed them and scanned those of interest...of course a lot of it was of no interest now.

    Learned a lot!

    Thanks!
