    My March 1 1978 308 GTS serial number is F106AS23825

    F= Ferrari
    106= engine type
    A= North America
    S= Spider or B= Berlinetta
    23825=Chassis number

    just wondering if anyone can help here

    chassis number reads F106AB26823, plate on steering wheel 308GTB 26823, door jam has build date December 1978 and number 26823, engine number F106AE *00982* but it is a targa top !!

    so I assume it is a GTB however at some stage in its life someone has converted it to GTS ??

    is there any way to tell whether or not this is the original engine ?? car has no history available
