I've often been curious how all you F-Car and other exotic/classic car owners store those all-important service records and reciepts? In talking to a few folks locally at work, many just pile things into a file cabinet somewhere. I find that interesting, especially for those folks who ultimately will be selling at some later date.

    Just collecting data for now...

I have a pile in an unused cabinet that is right next to the pile for my motorcycle. It's all there. I may review it and organize one day. Most of our other stuff is in filing cabinets but they got full.

I use binders with the clear, top loading sleeves. No need to punch holes in originals and are easy to shuffle around if needed. I have one per each vehicle I own.

I don't know if this is part of the question, but the computer program got me thinking that I do document all details such as service, oil change, topping up oil and fuel to a small booklet in the glove box. Brake fluid flush, air filters......... I can always look through that to see what is coming up. But i do all that stuff myself so I don't have service records for the brake fluid flush for example. Also got a notebook where I took notes and made drawings as I was doing the major service. That is with the pile of receipts.

UH....I've been depending on the computers at Lake Forest Sports Cars. Is that wrong? Should I keep the printouts myself? I always figured I could have them print them out for me if I ever needed them. When I traded my F355 Spider, the dealer didn't care at all about service records. They never even asked even though I never missed a single service, whether I put enough miles on the car or not. Of course is was in absolutely immaculate condition...best 355 there ever was. I wonder where it is now....
