I drove a Gallardo LP 560-4 convertible and really liked it compared to the 430 spider I drove. It felt really solid, fast and fun to drive. I have just bought a 07 430 spider and it feels much better than the one I drove at the same time as the Gallardo. I think it was because the G car was much newer than the 430. They were both from a rental company.
drive both, you'll go to F430 unless you drive super trofeo or superleggera... I've driven both, on the track, edge to Ferrari... much more fun! And it's not even the Scud.
Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I just came from an 06 Gallardo with rear wheel drive conversion and other mods. (bought a F430 07 Silverstone coupe) I think If you like the Gallardo try to get a LP550-2, they are more fun and faster than the F430. I think that the interior in the Ferrari is nicer and bigger (I am 6.2 Tall) and the trunk is way bigger in the Ferrari. So far I like the Ferrari, for me it was time to move on. At the end of the day you are going to buy based on your personal opinion or taste. You cant be wrong with any of the two...
But no issues with stickies and headers with the Gallardo? Have not driven Gallardo but felt very tight and seats were maybe less comfortable? Thinking of upgrading but worried about headers on an older car as well as stickies, F1 pump, e diff etc....
Drove them back to back and no comparison. 430 Much more alive. Steering probably better due to awd vs rwd though. Another btb with performate vs 458 was totally ridiculous. Ferrari was from another dimension. Gallardos drive like a gtr IMO which isn't bad since i have a gtr too but modern Ferrari have much better feel
Mine was a six speed manual so I cant comment on the others, but the car was pretty much bullet proof. For my f430 I bought fabspeed headers and I should be installing them this weekend along with the capristo mounts.
I've driven both, and while I love the Lambo, the F430 is just more refined and luxurious all the way around. I drove a friends 2009 Gallardo and it was harsh and uncomfortable to drive, even to the point that my wife didn't care for it from the passenger seat. Shifts were harsh, ride was harsh, and the interior didn't do it for us either. Now if I just wanted pure looks and wanted to get the most attention, I'd go Gallardo over a standard F430... Although I don't believe getting attention would be a problem for a F430, you just won't get as much as a Lambo.
I test drove an '08 Gallardo AWD and an '06 430 when I had my former 355 ... and talk about night and day! These cars are TOTAL opposites! The 430 has a feel similar to a 355 having a quick, light, agile feel with a BUNCH more power than a 355, where as the Gallardo is a whole different animal, more like a bull that it is. I haven't driven an LP550-2 or a rear wheel drive conversion on a Gallardo, so I'll let others comment on those. Drive them all and you'll know which one is for you. Good luck!
Well the one I was looking at was a 08g with 520hp. What one did you feel was a better ride in whole.
I Like my O7 G Spyder better than my 08 "430 SCUD! I'm shy and not really into the look at me factor of the cars but the G w LOC Exhaust sounds so much better than the scud. I put the Capristo valve controller on the scud Exhaust to try and help but to no avail. I'm going to eventually try the X-pipe for the scud. The Tranny on the Ferrari is much better than the G but I really don't mind the raw shifting G tranny. Gotta at least get an 06-08 though. I guess it all depends on how u plan to drive the car you choose? Neither of the cars we are talking about are meant for Daily Driving. Benz's and Bently's are Daily Drivers. Best wishes with your search..
Except for the Balboni edition, the 430 is the better driving of the two. Factoring in the Balboni is almost a toss up in driving fun but the 430 is the much better looking car, hands down. I never understood why Lambo made the half to rear three quarter view of the Gallardo so fat and ugly
I've been considering trading my 430 spider for a G....been looking at 08 SL's. Any previous owners of SL's have comments?
Yes..............You will need to have a good back to drive the SL After 1 hour in that car I needed Motrin all day. Eric
