How Does the Diamond Rate Against the Cirrus?

Heard a lot about the Cirrus being the creme de la creme of planes desired by private pilot, and recognize why this may be so given its state of the art avionics and ergonomics. But am getting more familiar with the Diamond Star aircraft as of late (just from what I see and read) and think it's a pretty cool plane. Don't know much of how the two compare, but am curious to know what pilot perception is between the two planes.

Are Diamond Stars also considered to be in the same league as Cirrus'?
