I know nothing about Ferrari service, is that when the major service is due? How much does that cost?

if he doesnt want red then it doesnt need to be red. not all ferrari's have to be red. I love the color but I'm a bigger fan of the black on black that you had in your sights a while back. either way if you pick it up thats awesome.

Service is done either every year with an annual or every 12500 miles with a major. I'm in the UK so don't know how much this costs in the US.

Personally, I love this color; and yes, not everyone prefers driving in a red car. Call the owner and check to see if the car has been in an accident. I believe this car was up on E-bay for a couple of months, and the car I saw back then has an accident record. Not saying these are the same car, but it's likely.

Oil change annually. At my dealer that runs around a thousand. Every other year a complete fluids change is necessary. At local dealer, just paid 1908 a few weeks ago.

You can get these services performed by a reliable independent for much less however since the car is out of warranty. Check your local section for pricing and names of independent shops.

Price seems reasonable and mileage isn't high at all. I agree that a red car would garner a higher price. As I've said before, buy what you like and don't let a few thousand stop you from getting the car you really want.

When I bought my Argento (silver) F430 w/ Nero interior, Daytona seats, CF package, Challenge wheels and 8500 miles, I was enthused because unlike so many other owners, I simply did not want a 'red' car. Subjectively speaking, I don't think that a non-Red Ferrari lowers the price by $10,000 as some would have you believe! In fact, I would have paid a premium to find my Silver car because they are harder to find. I never would have considered buying a red Ferrari... never. I find silvers, titaniums and greys to be more sophisticate and less "racy." And that's what I wanted. Some like blondes, some redheads, some brunettes; there is no wrong or right, it is merely your subjectivity and desire.
On another note, those that may suggest that a five year old car with 8,000 to 10,000 miles carries the designation of a "high mileage" Ferrari, I'd like to simply say this: You're not driving and enjoying your car enough! I have faith that the engineering and R&D put into a $200,000.00 vehicle is commensurate to that car achieving well above a mediocre 50,000 highway and rural miles!

Drive On and Be Proud to get the Ferrari You want!

Yes, Grey and F1 put it at the bottom of the price range, and in winter one like this would be going in the 100-110k range.

GHG- Do not let anybody spook you on F430 maintenance. There is no "major" on the car since the cam belts were changed to chains. Ferrari has used hydraulic lifters since the F355, so no valve adjustments. Like BB22 says, maintenance consists mostly of fluids and filters and independents do a very cost effective job on routine maintenance. Costs quite a bit more than a Corvette, but not that much more than a Mercedes or Porsche.

The F430 is a big improvement on maintenance costs from the 360. Clutches are the exception, but clutch life is up to the driver.

I think the Grigio Titanio (titanium) is a very attractive color on the F430, assuming that is the correct color.

If the police report was done, then request a copy of it and ask for photos showing the damages along with the repair bills. Keep in mind, you'll have to go through the same hassle when the time comes for you to sell it.
