    i was driving my fcar down a 2 way road, when coming towards me was a guy waiving at me in what i thought was an fcar , then i thought it was a lotus elise.. then i realized only after i waived back. it was a cherry red - ----

    its like a suzuki samarai waiving at a jeep ...

    i actually like them , i bet they can go 100,000 miles before even an oil change..lol!reminds me of a cute golf car . prob powerful and gile as one too.

    ok it was dusk , i wasnt fully paying attention , and he got me by flailing his arms to distract me from the ever so present front grill. it could ve been a miata in that instant.. its the fact the dude waived at me like, "hey, lets go on a drive sometime " lol ...
    ps yes ill hang with lotus . but not a ponticar ..!

    It is okay. I would wave at an enthusiast even if they were in an Aztek. I might wreck from laughing, but waving back is just showing them that you are not a snob.

    I think those Solstice look pretty good actually. I read somewhere that they were going to put the same motor in some of them as they put in the new Vette. So they may have lots of 'go' also.

    BT, I agree with your architectural prowess about the Solstice. They are a very nice tidy package. I believe for an extra $25 grand you can get a small block Chevy engine installed that will surpass Corvette performance.

    To further indulge as to how attractive the Solstice is, in another thread, the Solstice was used as the basis for an interpretation of a modern Ferrari GTO.

    Back to the original thread, could the guy have been waiving because one of you was going the wrong way on a one way street?

    You share a passion for open-air motoring in small, 2-seat cars that are fun to drive on interesting roads, but you feel badly about waving at him because..............he can't afford as exclusive a car as you can?

    See quite a few of those solstice's (sp?) in orlando. I prefer the looks of the saturn version personally...

    we all know the blood sweat and money that goes into ownership of a fcar. not that i turn my nose up at an everyday production car . just i wave differently to another fcar owner, like "i know your innermost feelings of pain and pride" :) how can you feel that way with a pontiac? hell our routine service costs about half of his car... i bet that pontiac ragtop doesnt leak though.. hehehe

    That Saturn is a good looking, fun, and fast................. chick car. IMO. I'd look for a slightly used Vette or something.

    dont get me wrong here , im bbusting balls- those guys at saturn for making such a "economicaly"cute exotic :) jealeuos? is the other guy smarter for buying that over an fcar? he prob has a few extra houses with the money he saved. hehe

    I wouldn't say that. Buy a Miata, pick up your 400-pound girlfriend on the way home from the Pontiac dealer, and, hey, you're effectively driving a Solstice.

    That said, yeah, you wave at the lesser mortals because you never know when it'll be you in the Miata. :)

    I waved at one from my 550 this morning.

    I think car guys, are car guys, no matter what.

    Except Subaru's. I can't stand those.
