    Just out of curiosity. I'm about 12 hours away to the closest Ferrari dealership, and maybe 4 hours from the closest independent that deals only with carbureted cars. The newest F-Car I've seen plated here is a 456.

    Is anyone in a similar position and brave enough to own a new(ish) Ferrari?

    I'm in the process of buying one, and half the year I'm 8 hours from a dealership and 3 from an independent.

    If you own a 348 (judging by your screen name it looks like you do), and have a decent level of mechanical aptitude, you can do a lot the work yourself.
