Tell that to the organizers of the Valencia GP: After loosing to the recession, Alonso and Schumacher not getting Spaniard Gene in is the last nail in their coffin.

Nice, sure, but tifosi are in general not so interested in who the drivers are or what nationality they are, but more interested in how good they are.

I feel more sorry for the people who got flights and tickets thinking that Alonso or Schumi would be racing.

    Back to topic.
My prediction for Badoer's result in Valencia, including a bit of wishful thinking:
    Q: 11
    R: 7

mmmm,,,may be becuase Ferrari`s "big fishes" think Gene is not a "complete" driver as Badoer is.May be they think Gene has got to look for that part of the finger he lost to be "complete".
Sorry,I know is a bad taste comment/joke,but is my way to say I can NOT undestand the Ferrari politicy in this case:
If we are refering to race, racing,I can not understand it,because Gene is going to race AT HOME¡¡ come on,is Valencia¡¡¡¡ is not Honolulu ¡¡¡ Come on ¡¡¡(Gene knows Valencia area like his hand¡¡¡) ,,,and as you well say just won 24hrs Le Mans,so it probes he is now in good health/shape like racer, not only like tester.
But,If we consider Badoer had been there seeeeeeveral years at Scuderia Ferrari like tester,If we consider this is in the way to be like a "present"/"award" from the brand to him,in that case i`m going to respect it,,,I can not understand it,but I can respect it.

May be Ferrari knows this season is more than probably lost for them,so may be they didn`t mind the results of Badoer at Valencia, may be is the perfet time for Ferrari to do a "homage"/"tribute" to this guy about all his years at Ferrari, lettin him race, and that`s all.

Only is my modest and honest opinion.

Unless Gene went to Valencia for a "rendezvous" in an F1, I don't think he knows the circuit any better than Badoer. ;-)

Ferrari's decision makes no sense. The only reason is, that they felt they had to pay back Badoer morally for when they snubbed him in 1999.

Marc Gene would have clearly been the better choice and I think he will replace Badoer after Valencia.

I think so too, I put my signed Schumi hat back and got out the one he signed......

That's why we run the races......

I believe a Permanent one - you probably wouldn't have gotten it anyway!
