My point exactly - I’m a former d1 athlete and I can tell u how hard it is to get at the top level of anything. Yes formula 1 is a bit different but ppl on here should try for 1 month to train like those guys and then come back and criticize.

Post injury "semi retired" Massa troubled Bottas too often when they were both at Williams for me to rate him all that highly

That's an argument often repeated but it does not convince me. We can criticize comparing how professionals perform in their background, not ours.
If a surgeon miserably fails an operation, I feel entitled to criticize even though I'm nowhere near able to succeed in the same operation; same for all professional activities.

I don’t disagree with that argument but I don’t agree either. I find it disrespectful ; unless the guy is grossly incompetent like say stroll ; u just don’t know how hard it is to get to the top.u being generally speaking not u lvp488

Good enough to win races and trouble Ferrari when needed. Whats not to like. Nice resume having driven for Mercedes as after Williams. Thats not a bad life. Sign me up eh?

'Agree with the former; the latter would depend on who was in what..... ;)

Except Grosjean who would likely crash... Im French and how he is still in f1 after all his mistakes is beyond me.

Yes and is doing well vs LH and is quite close in qualy pace. Bottas is more than capable as an F1 driver

Something he shares with Vettel ... or Rosberg. Fast drivers, but not top racers.

The entire grid is capable as an F1 driver, that's why they're there.

Bottas flatters Lewis. He is a journeyman, nothing more.

If Grosjean or Stroll was the lead Mercedes driver from 2014 onwards he would have 30+ wins and multiple championships.

You mean a pro racing driver who has been doing it his whole life is better than a bunch of random guys on an internet message board?

    Scalding hot take!

Bottas showed promise but lately he really looks to have fizzled out.

I take it you disagree with my assessment?

Sorry, I couldn't find any superlatives beyond that. Fast, but unspectacular driver. Is that better?;)
