The graph confirms what I thought from the seat of my pants. The meaty part of the torque curve is 4K to 6.5K. For acceleration, torque is more important than HP. For maximum acceleration, one would still want to go to 7500 or so to be in the power band when you upshift, however, if you are using one gear to, say, pass someone on the road, it will feel the best between 4500-6500.
