So I was getting ready to start my oil change and noticed my outside cv boot is ripped. How hard is it to fix? I got the boot and clamps coming from ricambi but just wondering what is all involved. I haven't done a cv boot before.

Very easy, the grease is a pain, quite messy though.

I had my exhaust off already due to the engine out service, which I recommend to get easy access to the area.

    Pretty straight forward.

    1. take the tire off
    2. remove caliper
    3. remove axle nut
    4. remove disc
    5. undo the studs on the diff side
    6. pull out the axle
    7. remove c-clip on diff side of the CV joint
    8. clean up bearing
    9. clean up bearing again
    10. clean up bearing again
    11. remove boot
    12. hand pack the bearing with the supplied grease
    13. reverse the process

I really simplified the process but it is very straight forward. I had my axle out in less then an hour, I'm doing the boot this weekend but I have done them before so it should be a hour job then back in. It is mess, grease wise but after that I find it to be really easy.

Thank you. I have a guy who can do it for much less than the dealer and since he specializes in Audis and VWs this is something his shop can handle without a problem.
I was just telling my fiancé I am more comfortable with them taking care of the cv but I feel more comfortable doing the oil change myself. Only because the oil change is not as straight forward as other cars.
But as I found last night once I was jacking the car up, our garage is so small. Especially for a wide car as the 348 is.
But depending on how ambitious I feel I may do it.
