For those that have spec'd a new Ferrari, how hard was it for you to pick out all the other touches that go with a Ferrari? Exterior color would be easy enough I would think. What I'm talking about are all those finishing touches. Is this done in an afternoon at the dealer, or is this thought of over weeks/months leading up to the dealer visit?

Based on my own experience, it was pretty anti-climactic. I did it in 20 minutes.

It really depends on the model and the individual dealer. Now there are so many options and you can do a virtual spec on the dealer's computer. If I were you, you could first go to the section of the model you want to order - 458 or F12/FF - and ask there what options people thought were good and which weren't as good. But the options are expensive so it's all relative to the money.

Secondly, ask your dealer how they usually do it. I guess you will order yours from one of the two Chicago dealerships and they probably have their own protocol for how they do it. Ask them what would be the best way for you to do it based on their experience - to come in several times or just one time. They do this all the time so they can help you.
