The driveability of my 348 is hindered by the car being so close to the ground. I've fixed the front bumper twice now because it hits things. I do have polyethylene skid plates on each side now which lowers the car another 1/4 inch but stops a lot of damage. Still, it will hit sometimes even on the expressway, like on bridges. The previous owner told me he had the car lowered. I'm thinking about raising it back up.
So, I could use some help. How far is your front bumper from the pavement in the center? Mine is about 5 1/4".
    Thanks!

    Hi Larry

Mine is lowered and is 5.5 inches at the front.

I had one minor scrape on the RHS but it was only a scratch. Its easily raised on the thread as long as its not rusted. I certainly wouldn't raise mine again. The handling is soooo much better as I have it now. I've not had any problems at any speed in the highway or very low speed bumps.

Don't forget top raise the back as well or you might upset the balance!

Also keep in mind from the clearance by the posters, what size of tires are they running, and to, how much air pressure are they running in the front tires?

I have a 1995 348 Spider with Ferrari 360 "Starfish" wheels with 225/40 - 18" front & 295/35 - 18" rear Vredestein Sessanta's on the car. My front bumper ground clearance = 6.25". I think the "Pumpkin" on rear axle is actually lower clearance but I did NOT climb under to measure (just by eye). My suspension is stock & 13,900 miles driven. I have the original factory 348 wheels 17" with Michelin Pilot Super Sport A/S on them with factory tire sizes they are identical in diameter to my 18" summer/sticky tires set up so they would yield approximately 6.25" ground clearance also. I will measure in December when I swap to A/S set up for colder road temps (never in the rain!)

    Thanks for the help!

I ordered the wrenches from Ricambi today. I do like how the car looks lower to the ground but I'm constantly hitting the ground. Mine scrapes hard even coming out of my driveway. I put a 2x6 in the entrance. It still scrapes but the board was stolen earlier today anyway.

I think I will raise it 1" all the way around and see how that works.

Mine is 4 3/4. Rear tires shot. Fronts good tread. (replacing them all and "fixing" the "reverse" wheels this week). Rear bumper is 9 3/4. So, is my car lowered?????

    Running stock tire sizes.....

Are you sure about that 4 3/4" at the front. The photo of the yellow car is some two inches higher than 4 3/4.
Mine is 5.5" front and 9 3/4" at the rear and it has been lowered 1/2" front and 1" rear.

See pics of my car earlier in this thread.

Just re checked it. Looks like 4 3/4 front , 9 3/4 rear.

The ruler I'm using has about an extra 1/8 inch height to it due to the 0 starting 1/8 from the end.

Again, run out tires in the rear. Good shape in the front. Probabably a little low on air. New tires going on tomorrow morning. Will measure again after.

Never compared to another 348 as I never see them! Does it seem low, average, or high?

I am curious how you can tell that simply by looking at the picture.

Mike - it was that the photo in #9 shows quite a gap between the top of the tire and the wheel arch - look at may car in #3. However, it was probably the angle of the steering or the suspension on the other side that caused the gap. The photo of Lou's car in #11 shows it sitting properly. It is definitely on the low side at the front. Perhaps raise it to 5.5" like mine. The rear height is fine.

Brand new tires and I'm sure a little more PSI brought mine to 5 3/4 and 10 3/4. Up a full inch. Maybe I can go off-roading now....

I can't believe some of your cars are lower than mine. You have to be having drivability issues like I do. My new wrenches came in today so I will soon make an adjustment. Thanks for all the measurements!
