One drain plug in the transmission and two drain plugs in the engine.

As far as I know, in order to get the MAXIMUM amount of oil out, after you remove the 2 drain plugs, you would have to take the union apart from the hoses that run to the oil cooler and blow them out with compressed air.
When I did an oil change I didn't blow the lines out, but I waited about an hour for the oil to drain and it seems like it all came out (based on the volume that I had to put back in).

Check the DIY thread at the top of the 360/430 page for details of how to carry out oil service for both engine and transmission.

Your diller is wrong. Any appropriate oil you use is definitely not very different from what you're using now. Think about it. You aren't plowing virgin ground when you change oil. Others have gone before you......................... many others.

The auto manufacturers think about how to get most of the oil out when they design the position of the drain plug(s) and then they publish a procedure in the owner's manual. They don't expect you to disassemble and wash your engine each time you change oil.

Likewise, the oil manufacturers realize that you can't get every drop of old oil out so they formulate their oils to be compatible with any other brand which is likely to be in your car. Unless you run a Formula One team or are building a Space Shuttle, it is virtually impossible for you to buy any recommended oil brand suitable for your engine which will not mix just fine with the little bit of oil of any other brand left in the engine when you do a regular oil change. Otherwise, engine mechanics would be rich and lawyers even richer. Again, nobody expects you to disassemble and wash the inside of your engine every time you change oil brands.

Just warm up the oil before you change it, follow the procedure in your owner's manual, let the oil drain for a good long time, and stop worrying about it.

cm2 said it best, "Drain and fill should do the trick! ".

All motor vehicle motor oils are required to be totally compatible.

    And they are.
