My turn signals were not working and I traced the problem to the flasher. I found that I wasn't getting power to the flasher on the red wire. I fixed that and then got the driver side to work but not the passenger side. I was getting power in for that side, on the white wire. This then sends power through a little relay-ish flasher. There are two of these, one for each side of the car. I took the cover off and could see that the passenger side one was hanging up. So I bypassed it with a cheap Autozone standard automotive type flasher. I kept all the Ferrari stuff intact, with the exception of violating the insulation on two wires with permanently temporary splice in connectors. I left the Ferrari flasher downstream of this because i couldn't get the connectors out of the holder. My hope was that the electricity would follow the path of least resistance, i.e., shortest and go through the Autozone flasher first. If it went through both I suppose I could get a double flash or rapid flash. I hooked it all up and it works just great so far. It all hides under the carpet/dash and probably wouldn't even cost me any points at the concourse. NOt sure how this will affect the hazard lights as I didn't try them yet.

Anyway, as the Ferrari flasher is apparently unavailable new and doesn't cross reference to anything else this seemed like a good way to go. Use at your own risk.

Interesting. I had a problem with intermittent operation of my four way flashers on my 355. I thought it was the switch, but after swapping with a new one, found it was the flasher relay. When I found out it was like $300 or something stupid like that, I figured I had nothing to lose to open it up...inside I found a bad cold solder joint on the little PC board. A light touch of a soldering iron fixed it. Back to 100% operation.

    Well done, Brian.

If the hazards also work, perhaps you could let everyone know the part number for that alternate (USA) flasher relay?

You say there is one for the left side of the car and one for the right side of the car? When I look at the Ricambi online parts diagrams, I see only quantity 1 for all types of flasher unit. The other unit appears to be an accoustic repeater (additional noisemaker).

ELECTRICAL BOARDS - PASSENGERS COMPARTMENT - Ricambi America, Inc.

I was trying to track down a substitute for the (different) Euro-based F355 flasher unit, said to be fitted on older Alfa Romeos, but they were too hard to find and probably just as expensive. Eventually I bought an original (new) Ferrari flasher unit, but for some reason, it was worse than the old unit (It gave me constant hyperflash on both sides, not just an intermittent hyperflash on one side).
