Just wanted to know after a couple of months how the new location and rules are working out(I have been busy so not able to get out).

Although I would go to the old event 3-4 times a year as a spectator, I never took an exotic because Vintage park was too far away and you had to get there too early if you wanted a decent spot. My neighbors are generally understanding about a V-12 with no muffler, but I can't be firing it up at 5 AM.

Its now much closer to me and most others....

I had spoken with the organizers before the re-boot and they told me the goal was that you could arrive at 7:30 and still get a great space.

So how has the quality of the cars been?

    Thanks

    Quality is excellent.

The turnout on July 4th was incredible and probably as big or bigger than Vintage Park...quite impressive.

Gosh it was so hot though.

Only really one way in and out and leaving the same puerile behavior with negligent driving perseveres...cue the first crash in 3..2..1

And to add to your interest level there was a red VT roadster in attendance (being sold by a dealer).

So this is the original C&C back in play?

Was the venue not at Louetta and 249 ... where was (and will be) the new location?

This weekend, it was massive. I haven't seen it this packed, before.

Crowded indeed. I arrived with Mr. Ed around nine and there was no place to park.

I then went to Supercar Saturday, but there was not a single car in that parking lot. Because of C&C, is SS no longer being held or will it be on a different Saturday ?

Supercar Saturday is now on the 2nd Saturday of the month so it will be there next week.

I was down in Houston last month and happened to be staying right across from where it was. The quality of cars was better than ours up here in Dallas, that's for sure. But it was hot, humid, and crowded.

The thing with y'alls, is that it seems to have room to expand. Ours doesn't, and I wish our organizers could understand. But it's at a BMW dealer...all about getting sales and traffic.

And without them we likely wouldn't have one. Count your blessings.

I went to SS this morning ... same place as cars were before ... not a single car there.

Has the location for this event changed?

What time did you stop by? There were quite a few cars out there. Small but really nice cars. Event was from 8-10

There's the problem....during the Summer months they run it from 8 to (suppossedly) 10......but everyone starts leaving by 9:00, which is one reason I don't frequent it as much as I'd like to. Driving 40 minutes each way to just get an hour of time at the event isn't a good value equation for me.

For that reason, I will frequent Ride & Shine, point forward.

Nice setting, not over-crowded and no blinged-out cars with ridiculous cambered wheels, which are not uncommon at Cars & Coffee.

I think the next few months will be better for all of the shows. A lot of people leave early from these events because it gets so hot so quick. Now that we will be entering "Fall" and the weather will be nicer, people will probably stay a little later.

I will beg to differ with Jay on this point (don't get me wrong, I love me some Jay). This issue is really only a Supercar Saturday one, and I think its a venue issue. There is really a lack of facilities associated with the location (a closed bar parking lot). No bathrooms that I'm aware of, very litle seating, no shade, and the only service option being food trucks (which have been VERY hit and miss quality and value-wise).

The other issue with SS is the strict adherance to not arriving until 15 minutes before show time. I end up waiting around in a hot car, geting in a long line, etc. There is a real annoyance factor there.

Contrast that with Ride and Shine, which doesn't attract as high a level of exotics but is a more pleasant experience. I can go to Starbucks, my little one can kick a soccer ball around in the grassy area, the wife can window shop.

Fortunately at City Center where the CnC is now being hosted the mall is opened by 7:30 and so is the Starbucks located inside plus there are good rest room facilities and its nice and cool in there.

C&C is at Memorial City, which is at Gessner & I-10.

City Center is at BW8 & I-10, venue for the Lamborghini Festival.

For a good few years while I lived in Delaware I frenquented the weekly C&C at West Chester PA. The folks all brought their own cars , came for a coffee and chat and then some would head out for a country drive. So far my experience in Houston is that supercars Saturday is more of a C&C than the other events. YEAP location is not great now but I've not had to guard my cars from the marauding masses who think the event is free dealer car show. I don't see a lot of respect from the crowd. I'd really be interested to attend a classics and coffee or connoisseurs cars and coffee that would be held away from the mad crowds but attract the wonderful autos that we know are around Houston.

The Lamborghini Festival is also soon, and quite nice.
A few bucks for the Kick Off party but you can laugh it up with Mr. Balboni...

Well if people keep driving away like idiots then we will be looking at a new location.....again!

This city is too big to hold a small gathering that stays classy and civil haha. The one in The Woodlands on the 3rd Saturday of the month seems to be just that though. Nice and small with an "older" crowd that isn't waiting around the corner with cell phones waiting for someone to be a jackass. I was one of 4 people at the very first C&C events held at Up Town Park. That was a great event that turned into chaos quickly and ever since then its jumped around from place to place. @nickd if you are into classics (american classics) theres a really great show on saturday nights called Nifty Fifty's on the north/northwest side of town. Very cool vibe and great people.

There was an incident this past Saturday involving a show-off Mustang and an immovable object (concrete curb) which resulted in a broken right-rear wheel and a traffic citation. Almost took out several bystanders standing on the grass. The incident was on the KPRC news this morning. Because of these antics by moron drivers, C&C has been banned from Uptown and Vintage Park venues. I would not be surprised if the landlord of Memorial City pulls up the welcome mat as well.
