Just saw this scud listed on Ferrari ads for below MSRP. (for $260K) http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=1987&cat=2 The price is in dollars, but the poster's location is London. I'm assuming this may be a car that the owner has in the US. Is this the norm for scud pricing in the US & around the world? -- I'm wondering about selling NOT asking prices.
Car is mine. Not for sale anymore, going to keep it. I can confirm though the Scuderia market in Europe seems to be pretty weak. Show me a market that isn't weak at the moment though....!
Wow! Really? US car? That is crazy....I know everything is affected by the economic downturn but I figured something as sought after as a Scuderia would keep higher relative demand. Any others with similar experience?
US, yup. Can't say I'm surprised, the entire market is in the crapper and those few with cash only bite if they can steal something.
Is your friend sure about the mileage? Every Ferrari leaving the factory has at least 40 miles on the odometer.
Well its a survival game out there and just give it 3 months and there will be many below list unfortunately, from what see in Banking for many, if you half the net worth of 12 months ago you are doing well...
not a bad idea - it's an amazing car. What was the MSRP over there on these ?..I know that MSRP's vary alot on these depending on where you are in the world.
Did you friend spec the Scud out with a Ferrari dealer? Was it a straight purchase or were there trades involved?
Just talked to a new Scud owner yesterday that got this one just above MSRP 2nd owner. Not sure how many miles were on it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
for those of you in Europe, go to www.mobile.de and buy your scud at MSRP for delivery NOW (be sure to deduct the VAT of 19% when doing your calculations, and convert to USD at the EUR rate of 1.25)...
2nd owner??? I thought original USA owners had to keep the car for at least one year, or sell the car back to the dealer within the first year of ownership. I also thought they had to be financed through FNA which means FNA physically has the title.
How many is "so many" ? I've only seen two pre-owned in the last few months. There are a lot of ads saying "Scuderia", but they are really F430 Coupes.
there aren't that many to begin with, but there would be none on the market if FNA had it 100% locked down. if you want to pay some over MSRP you can buy one.
FNA is no longer enforcing these policies. You don't have to finance and you don't have to keep the car for a year. The policy change is due to the bad economy.
There is one for sale in HK asking USD40k premium and no takers. Car is over USD500k in HK so premium is less than 10% http://www.exclusivecars.com.hk/stock_detail.asp?key=18321
