Subject says it all - I have to travel for 2 weeks straight. Should I disconnect
the battery (it seems strong) so the clock doesn't run it dead?

    Thanks,

If the battery is good it will probably run the clock for months with no problem. In any event, if you leave it connected and find the battery is dead when you return you need a new battery (good to know now rather than later) or you have something else causing additional current draw (needing investigation).

It's never a bad idea to disconnect the battery on a cars like these when it's only a matter of setting the clock again however I wouldn't want to mess with the clock too often. We should probably be greatful that they still work :)

No doubt! I was amazed it worked, and more amazed that the somewhat tweaky setting of it
with that TINY knob still works!

I promise to drive her the MINUTE I'm back in town

    :D

The 328 has a quick disconnect for the battery behind the driver's headlight

Regrettably i have to leave my 328 sitting for several weeks at a time. Never a problem to re start her.

Yeah, but there's something to be said for being reunited with an object or person that you love after a time apart. Makes it that much more special.

I finally went out and bought a battery tender for mine. I used to have to lift the hood to get to the pigtail to plug it in but a couple months ago I moved it near the front hood strut and made a little hook tool to fish it out between the louvers when I plug the tender in.
