How long did it typically take from order to delivery of a new Ferrari in the 1980s? I read somewhere that for the Testarossa, it could take a couple years. Is that accurate? What about models such as the 308, Mondial etc?

Ferrari was a very different company back then. They simply didn't have the ability to keep up with demand.

There was a customer who came in to G L and wanted a new Testarossa. He wanted to jump the wait list. He handed Paul a large amount of cash. Paul handed it back and said "we don't do that here".

I don’t know either, but have heard & read (here) it can take 12-18 months from putting down a deposit to actual delivery of a new Ferrari nowadays, so if true, not perhaps not so different than previous decades ?
