....cleaning your car every week. This is getting ridiculous. I am spending up to three hours every saturday in this currently freezing English winter even. Anybody beat that?

You need some help. I drive it instead of cleaning it. My Fcar usually never gets dirtier then a quick wipe with a duster. My Jag goes to the car wash once a week.

Mine's usually dirty. That's just what happens when it's a daily driver. I usually wash it before a local Ferrari meet, which means every other week or so.

I clean mine about every other 2-3 times I drive it - even more often if it looks dirty before then. I polish it every other month. I just finished cleaning it a few minutes ago, and I also polished my fiance's Carrera. I wish I was not so bothered by a dirty car.

I usually clean it after every drive so it varies but usually an hour or two after every drive. I thought I was bad but a friend of mine is nuts. At least an hour or so every day, minus the winter since it is under a car cover. He just waxes and waxes. Only put 500 miles on his car in almost half a year.

Sophia, the '89 Mondial t coupe, gets cleaned after each drive or cleaned between drives (depends on what time she gets home). She prefers nice sunny days and is much happier in her spot in the shop during the week and during inclement weather, wrapped in her nice soft dust cover. Today she was treated to lots of Quick Detailer, Leather conditioning/cleaner foam and Resolve carpet cleaner, etc. and TLC for several hours. On the other side of the spectrum, Big Red ('97 Chevy 4x4 p/u) hasn't seen the car wash in several months, I think the truck is victory red under the layer of protective dirt.

Well normally i'll start off the summer w/ a 6-8 hour full auto detailing of my car. That's stripping all the old wax off, cleaning everything, reapplying wax, etc. Then, i'll spend at least 1-2 hours once a week just cleaning it, getting any dirt off. And i'll do a more extensive 4 hour detailing maybe once a month. At the end of the summer, before i go back to school I spend 6 hours or so prepping for the harsher weather to come. :) That's all for a civic, imagine if i had a Ferrari.

Why wash it? Won't you just be driving it later?

    ;)

    Seriously, mine gets washed:
    1. Before a concorso or non-track car event.
    2. When it goes into the dealer, I'll have them wash it and the engine bay.
    3. If it gets something on it that might damage the paint (damned birds!). I have 3M film on the nose, so bugs up there don't count.

It does take a couple hours when I wash it... but I don't do it that often.

    Am I bad? ;)
