How long have you had your 355?

I have had mine for 7 days! nearly 1000kms trouble free.

My advice, get it checked out, make sure you are happy with the PPI and general condition of the car, then buy it. It is the best thing i have ever done and i will never regret it for a second. keep in mind, everything can be fixed and life is just too damn short to wait and wonder what if.

 

2 1/2 weeks. Had the car checked by Orange County Ferrari, the car is undrivable due to a hose leak in the F1...something which they specifically checked and said was good.

Love the car, not happy with the PPI by OCF.

 

Wanted a 355 Berlinetta since saw one at NY autoshow in April'96.....Finally bought my car last December on my B-day!

Waited 2 months for Major service (at Eugenio's) and installed hyperflows + Capristo.

Last weekend, just had F1 trans adjusted (at Eugenio's with SD2)

Now, car is as good as it first left factory.

 

Had a 95 355b from 98 to 01 put 24,000 miles myself for a total of 34,000 on the car. Never had a problem, only regular maintenance and I drove the car hard including track days. I now have a 99 355F1 spider, three months and 3,000 miles for a total of 13000 miles, no problems.
Funny, I have a 99 360F1 that has been trouble free as well for 10,000 miles and two years. Maybe I am just lucky who knows, but maybe driving these cars helps. Something to think about.

I drive my F355'GTS '98 for 1/2" year now and putting 2000 kms on the clock..no problem at all..
A Ferrari will stay a car that can break but then you should not buy one...
Do not buy a Ferrari with a closed wallet,but buy it with your heard...You will have the best time of your life!

I've had mine since October of last year - 2K miles driven- no problems

 

I have had mine since June 2004. I have driven it both on the track and on the street with only minor issues that would occur to any car that is used. I highly recommend the 355.

owned a beautiful 355 spider for two years until the 360 spider bug bit me. bought the 360 and 2 months after that sold the 355. i miss it but not as much as i will miss the 360 when it goes.

 

Over a year for mine, and only very minor problems. I love it more every day.

 

Have had my 97 355B for two and a half years. I too have Eugenio maintain the car. (Nobody better!) Installed new Hyperflow Cats, other than my own doing, no problems.

 

I have had my 99 355F1 for three years,drive about 3000 per year, car currentyly has 29,000 miles, had to replace exhaust headers but it was covered by factory warranty, (lucky), my fear is the F1, so far its been o.k. and Eugenio just checked it with his new SD-2, replaced a couple of computer chips. Car ran like a champ to and from Monterey. On one stretch when I was driving at 75-80,got 20 miles per gallon. I did get a ticket for no front license place, the CHP officer wanted to make an example of me so my other Ferrari buddies would see me pulled over and slow down. What a sweet heart of a guy.

got my car little over a week ago. My car wont start, pass side window mechanism broke, awesome!!! It drove GREAT for the first 400 miles though. Still love the car.

an F355 at 80mph cruising is sweet

because you know if you punch it you'll be at 120mph in a hear beat (i clocked 165mph "meters per hour of course " on the 15 to vegas once.....car was solid)

Have my 98 355 gtb for almost a year just changed the oil no problems so far ( knock on wood ). Still can't get the smile off my face.

 

Ive had my 348 for 2 years now and I STILL cant get the smile off my face.
So get used to it mate.......

 

my '99 355F1 GTB has been on the road for about 2 months, zero 'new' problems. I say that because I got an awesome deal on it knowing it needed some fixin' that I could do myself (clutch, interior stickies, air pump, coolant sensor, still need to fix sport mode). Driven almost daily to work, Home Depot, and anywhere else I need to go. And also driven often when I have nowhere to go but just have the urge to paddle shift at 8500 rpm!

 

2k miles??? I put over 6k in the same time frame!!!............. you must have alot of other f-cars to keep you busy..... !!

 

I've had my 95 355 for about 2 years now (averaging 2k mi per yr). Valve guides were done during 04 major. CEL last year for bad plug wire taken care of during routine maintainence. I did oil this year. I'll change out headers preemptively with the next major most likely next year. Fantastic car the 355.

 

8 months and 4K miles (including 1600 from LV to Napa, Monterey and back to LV). Loving every minute of it!

 

I'm the 2nd owner had the car for 5 years, done 50000kms. I've had the cats done, cam-belts twice, new shocks, new wheels, two sets of tyres, one clutch, new paint and replaced all the sticky interior bits. That all cost a bit I guess, but the daily smile on face - priceless.

My wife will have to bury me in it.

4500 miles in 18 months ad no problems !!!
Only accurate maintenance and no EXTRA RPM until the temperatures are ok.
No leaks, no fluids consumption, othing more than .......fun
