As my 6 yr old daughter quickly pointed out...'well daddy, maybe they'll make a hot wheels model of it and you can get that one?' :D I'll take it! How long until they hit the shelves? a few months?? a year?

We were given these 1:43 models at the launch event. I can confirm that the first 458 was flipped on my coach when a red model was traded for a yellow one by a couple of guys in my group :D

At the Racing Days on Nurburgring last year there was an exclusive 1/43 model by Hot Wheels Elite of the California (red & light blue) with detachable roof. I cross all my fingers that at this years IAA in Frankfurt there will be an 1/43 458 Italia available. I think so...or at least I hope!

    Cheers, Jens

The model is fixed to the plinth and without destroying the underside of the plinth there's no way of unscrewing it to get the manufacturer's name. Looking at the 1:43 California model I got at it's launch and comparing it to online pics I'd say these models are made by Mattel.

I believe BBR are supposed to be the official factory approved and first to offer a 1/43 458 Italia model according to Grandprixmodels.com/ 4 Small Wheels .

The California is certainly no BBR, and this isn't probably one either...
BBR is in the final stages of finishing its 458..

If they would use a special BBR, these would be in high demand, for now, most collectors, like me, await the BBR. Would be stupid paying big bucks for a Mattel...

    but its nice gift anyway

I wonder if Tamiya will make a 1/12th scale version of the 458?
I have the Enzo in this scale and i think its fantastic!
