Just back from a three week vacation out of a total of six per year, it made me wonder how many weeks vacation do you have per year?
The labour-law in Sweden states that every full time regular has the right to five weeks vacation per year.
Then you can have more, depending on profession, position, age etc.

In the US most companies give new (young) employees 2 weeks per year to start with and increase it gradually over 5~10 years of service to a maximum of 4 weeks per year. For a new (older) experienced employee, a company may offer 4 weeks per year to start with as another incentive to change companies, but it usually isn't increased thereafter.

I own the business, try to take a week or two a year, and steal occasional Fridays.

My employees get 1-4 weeks, depending on tenure, and get 12 paid holidays. As a small business, +- 30 employees, it's difficult to afford more, both financially, and from a planning standpoint.

I get 3 weeks plus holidays but consider the actual time is only 120 hours, that makes it 15 days, not 21.
Also get 5 days sick leave so that makes it 160 hours.

Holidays are; Memorial Day(3 days), July 4 (3 days), Labor day (3 days), Thanksgiving(4 days) and Christmas (11 to 15 days). We are given time off from December 23 to January 2 (roughly) for a winter break.

No Holidays from January 2nd until the end of May.

Three weeks and I get 2 personal days, a mental health day , all the standard holidays and they don't ***** about taking sick time to go to the movies because I am burned out.
The best benefit I get in time off is comp time. If I work over 40 hours in a given week they give me the extra off as vacation time. It's marvelous.
I ussually come in on Sundays and make it up with one four day weekend a month.
