I need to know what was the term of the factory warranty on a 2005 F430 Spider?

Starting with the '99 360's, it should be 3 years and unlimited miles.

Are you guys sure about this? I thought there was an extra charge in 2005 for 1 year extra warranty?

Perhaps my alzheimer's is more progressed than I realize!

I don't know about all 2005's but for my 2008, there was a mandatory payment of getting the 4th year of the warranty.

Coupes could get away with 3 years. Spiders got 4 years but you had to pay for it in the MSRP under "extras".

    I didn't mind.

It was the same in 2005. There was a mini uproar from some spider buyers being forced to pay for an extended warranty which wasn't cheap. IIRC they also put navigation in all spiders but at a "discount" from their rather stiff price at the time. It was rather stupid from a marketing standpoint to list it as an add on. If I was in charge, I would have rolled into the base price and dealers could tell spider buyers how lucky they were to get 4 years instead of the measly 3 years coupe buyers got.

So the answer is, all the 2005 factory warranties ran out last year for spiders and 2 years ago for coupes.

Yes, but owners were given a chance to buy extended warranties. I got a very fancy brochure but no prices so I asked my dealer. The price was more than I thought worth it, so passed. So far so good, I'm over 10K ahead of where I would be had I bought in.

It was 3 years for a coupe, 3 or 4 for a Spider if they stuck you for the extra year. Long since expired. Why do you want to know?

I am second owner of a November build 07 spider. Original owner took delivery in Jan 08 and my warranty expires Jan '11. An extra year of warranty would be nice.

I don't think you have to be the original owner to buy an extended warranty. Ask a dealer. Check your window sticker to make sure you don't already have it if you have not already done so.
