At first we have to start with the fact, that "only" 1376 and not 1973 cars of this model have been built. According to the Maserati 3500GT Register of Ruud Bax res. Marcel Zwaneveldt ca. 500 are existing. Personally I know of two scrapped cars, 798 and 1654, because I have some remains. Who knows more?
I think you are right Hans. I am working on a qualification of the 3500's like ( Driver, in restoration, wreck/parted out, scrapped, unknown) . that would allow me to run some statistics on the 3500 GT registry. I am pretty sure 101-752 and 101-2330 are scrapped as many parts of this car have been offered in the past by rareparts.nl . Marcel
I have applied a status to each Touring 3500 GT in my database and these are the results (of my assumptions): Driving 265 In restoration 64 In need of restoration 76 Unknown whereabouts 202 Scrapped 14 Total 621 Since 1402 of these cars were produced still many many cars are "lost" today.
