I bought it late 2016, since then they have not had a similar . I gave them a new (<5k mile) Cali T for it.
Yes it’s an OTO. Ferrari added the wheels and two tone paint job as a favour to Clapton - the original owner. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Congrats, it’s a special car, I think it’s an extremely elegant combination [emoji1417] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When did you see the car at Miller? My car is an 08 612 OTO Gregio Ferro/Iroko and it was origionally sold by Miller Motors June 2009. I guess the origional buyer backed out of the deal as the build date is September 2008 so it likely sat at Miller Motors for quite some time.
I saw it on the internet in 2016 sometime. I remember it as I’d not seen a Grigio Ferro car before. I saw the colour on another car and thought it was lovely. It reminds me of a Canna Di Fucile (sp?) Also a fab colour [emoji1417] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For me , I think it was about 2012/2013 when I first saw the ferro/iroko 612, when did you pick yours up from Miller? Up until I picked up my new '15 Cali T I recall seeing it again, not sure it was the same car. In the end my car was not originally sold by Miller, sticker says dealer is Ferrari of Washington (DC) After a year of owning my Cali T in for service , the ferro/iroko 612 was there again in 2016 - so my car is the car you recall. Salesman said this particular car was sold a year earlier then came back again as the new owner was upgrading. I couldn't resist to cut the deal and traded my new Cali T for it. Sounds like there a a few cars w/ similar color combination. Would be interesting to see how many builds w/ similar color combos there are.
i bought my 09 exactly like this at wide world. someome had ordered the car and then bailed out. they cldnt have specced out a better car for me!
Funny, I was chasing a 1 off Grigio Scuro / Iroko car for a couple years and it got sold each time as I always seemed to call too late. Then I found out about the black/black with full diamond stitch and carbon zoned interior and went to see it and fell for it on the spot. While I was inspecting the car another buyer walked in and wanted to buy it on the spot, but I was first and already committed to the inspection and the seller kept his word. Couldn’t be happier with the decision! Didn’t even tell the wife until after it was delivered to my warehouse [emoji23]. Then she found out and said WTF is that???? To which I said our new car?? [emoji23][emoji23] Story for another time [emoji16] I am surprised so many were sitting around. My car was sitting around in storage because the previous purchaser backed out. Once I knew it was available, and I approved the inspection, it was a five minute handshake deal and a check for the deposit and done... I still wonder about the Grigio Scuro car. I’ve never seen another OTO in that colour.. pretty special it was. [emoji1431] I also saw an Ivorio/Iroko and a Bianco Fuji/Iroko, they were pretty neat as well. well, the world as we knew it came pretty close to hitting the RESET button, credit dried up and jobs were lost and home values disintegrated.
A lot of people bailed on their new Ferrari orders back then-- which is why there are so few OTOs now! I started trying to get an allocation for mine in fall of 2007, didn't get it until beginning of 2008, ordered in the spring and took delivery in the summer. Things were quite a bit different from when I started talking with the dealer to when I took delivery!
I think Miller sold the car to a guy who had it in the area for a few years and drove it very little. Then the second owner got it from Miller again. He mover the car to the Salt Lake area for a couple years then traded it to F of Salt Lake. He got a FF which is good for the area. Then I found the car advertised by F of Salt Lake w/o pictures only a description only about 5k on the clock and immediately put a refundable deposit on it pending inspection. Finally picked it up August 2015 and drove it home. Great trip with my wife as Utah speed limit is 80 so I didn’t standout to much bringing it home in So Cal. It sounds like you may have seen the car when it sold at Miller the second time 2012/2013. I am the third private owner and I think it is a keeper for me.
You are probably right , that's why I was confused when I thought it was there for a 3rd time - the first time I saw the car it must have been yours , the next 2 times it was the one I eventually own.
CNC Motors had a 2009 or 2010 612 OTO Ivorio/Iroko when I was looking for my car. I liked it but two other guys really liked it and the car went for very top dollar at the time (2015) I think around $200k. I didn't like it that much and let the others bid it up. Glad I did as I like my color and equipment better - it seems that all the OTO cars are pretty much the same except for options but no style changes I can notice.
Ferrari doesn't really play the "model year" game, so each model is pretty much the same through the years.
I remember that Ivorio car, that’s the one I think had the diamond stitch as well, and I do believe it was CNC. Yes, the models are pretty much the same except for the individual trim specified by the atelier when ordered. I remember one car had special UV treatment on the leather and interior fabric for 25/30k extra and I almost fell over as I thought it was nuts [emoji1645] [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fortunately that wasn't the reaction I got from my wife. She was absolutely thrilled I was buying the car, and came with me to Cleveland to pick it up. A couple years ago I just daydreamed aloud about trading/selling it for something else. I was told if the 612 goes, so does she. So I'm keeping them both!
