There are many black amex card holders here. You can do a search in this forum and find more threads on the subject.

Although I have had a Platinum before and now have a Gold AMEX; unless you do a lot of traveling, the original green AMEX works just fine...in fact, I am considering changing mine to just that to avoid that wasted three hundred and something dollar annual fee!

Parkerfe, I agree with you. I also traveled alot, had the platinum and found that it was not worth the extra money for the color. I went down to a gold, and am now thinking about going to green. Like others I bought into their marketing, but it was not worth the extra $$$'s.

You're 1 up on me... I pay cash and they always hold it up to a light assuming it's counterfeit...

having a $300/yr amex is important to the lifestyle, ha? feel free to buy the lifestyle laptop, perfume, vacations, hats, shirts, pens and drain said cc for the benefit of branding exercises.

no thanks. Now $300/yr into just-in-case oil changes is no problem, and definitely part of the lifestyle.

    Nope, not me..
As long as I have money in the bank and can buy whatever we want, I don't need a Centurion. But hey, it would be cool to have one!

He's only been a member for 1 day. How about cutting him some slack and letting him get settled in before making a decision on whether or not he's going to subscribe?

It's a load of BS. Even if you make a trillion dollars, you'd be stupid to get one. Debt isn't a lifestyle form, at least not officially.

Anyway, the blue works great for me. I get points with which I can travel. No fee. No due-at-end-of-month BS.

    Voila.
