I have to wonder if today you couldn't move that battery to the rear like the Merak does. No it's not desirable to add more wight to the rear but you could offset some of that by using a hi tech battery instead of just a lead acid variety. That compartment behind the driver's seat is one area.

I remember the car you speak of as it was all over eBay numerous times. Sorry but I have to wonder how well it could have worked anyway. There are just too many negative issues with that idea. I spoke with guys who turbocharged a 4.9 V8 and they broke the crank doing it. The issue of heat in that engine compartment is already bad enough WO adding turbos. I'd have to see and drive the car in warm weather to believe it actually worked properly.

Buy a nice original example if you want another Jorge. In stock guise properly sorted they are very nice cars but not rocket ships like today's supercharged or turbocharged cars.
Even my 84 Biturbo beat the pants off of the Bora up to about 110 - 120 mph.

    Just my dos centavos.

Did you ever find your Espada S1?

    Bob,
I am not interested in that Bora although it is very attractive. I had seen it on eBay and then it showed up in Houston. I met the owner and he told me what was being done. I was just curious how that had turned out.
No, no Espada, no Urraco, nor any hi buck cars for me right now. I am wondering if what we're seeing with these prices is another asset bubble. I rather be safe than sorry.

    Hi Jorge,

The top of the hood has a vent to expell the hot air, but certainly makes sense that one would think it to be an intake.

    Ciao,

But how will you know how much it actually sells for. It it's gone quickly then that should be a good indicator.

Bored with your Bora or are the prices just too tempting?

True on actual sales price, I figure a quick sale is a good sign, how much really will they discount if that's the situation? Not bored with the Bora, it's a great car, but prices are tempting and with 2 other Ferrari's and no time to drive any of them, it may seem to be the right move financially. The car has been sitting in storage for some time as I only have a 2 car garage. If I had a big garage and tons of disposable income, I'd probably never sell it!

I wonder if "Portenos" will chime in on this, they mention his name in the description.

Nice Bora, great color combo and the fact that it appears to have original carpets is a big +.
Priced right and if not gone already should be snapped up imeadiatly.
    There, I chimed in.

Seems like a nice car for $160k hammer price. don't know how "highly original" is it, looks like the interior is new.

Seats were redone. Was a 3 condition car cosmetically. Can't speak to mechanicals.

That is strong money for a #3 car.

I find it interesting my Bora has been in the family since 1978 and it just never really saw a jump in value until now. It goes to show high end cars come around in value if one holds long enough.

…but not too long? Funny how some seemingly narrow segments of "high end" can drop. Have a look at the softening values of '57-'58 Chrysler 300C/D's. The earlier '55-'56's seem to be holding well. Is it buyer demographics?

    Cheers, -Art

It looks pretty good in the photos if not perfect. What makes this a #3 car who established that as the condition?
