Many car addicts here have rotated through countless cars. I’ve bought and sold many, but there were quite a few that I regretfully sold and bought back…friends think I’m crazy. I call it car collecting [emoji38]
    Here’s the short list:

Lotus Exige S260 - have gone through many Loti, but the Final Edition S260 is the epitome of rawness.
RR LR4V8- bought back an LR4V6SC, wasn’t the same
    Escalade - good family hauler
    G wagon - sold G63, bought back G4x4
AM DBS - first was a manual Casino Royale, second was automatic, then Vanquish
MurcieSV - last of the Bizzarrini engine
Speciale - sold first one and sold IPE headers/decat/exhaust. Bought back coupe, bought back IPE headers/decat/exhaust. Added Aperta.
RR Ghost - on the bubble. Enjoy the comfort and luxury
CGT - on the bubble. G.O.A.T.

Haven’t bought back the same exact car, but I did do a Ferrari 308 after my 328, and I’m on my second 911.

I’ve had quite a few cars, but the 308/328 and air cooled 911 (993 and now a 964) have remained at the top of my list. They’re both visceral and unique, Classic but usable. I had a car enthusiast offer to buy my 964 this week outside an Italian restaurant, but if I sold it I’d be at a loss for what to replace it with. Probably yet another air-cooled Porsche…

I tracked down and planned to buy back my 1978 Trans Am but when I saw it the various owners had trashed it to the point it would have been pretty much a full restoration project just to get it back to something I could drive and be proud of - much less relive my "just out of high school" days. So I passed :( I still see them pop up from time to time on BJ and Mecum and am tempted to grab one even if not THE one - will see :)

I traded my Porsche Boxster in for a 1991 NSX many years ago. Then after 2 month's bought the same Boxster back for $2k more than what I got for trade on it. I just recently bought a 2002 Lexus IS300 since I regret selling my 2004 years ago. Feels good to have one back again, Lexus has never made any like it the first gen IS.
