Not sure about the internals but have a look at P D Gouth in Nottingham, uk. They makes very good replacements

For QV also part number 118353, 118353/A and CH part number 120703....the muffler on the lower picture has part number 118353-46....
I wonder also how they sound differently.

...and if you wondered how the swiss spec exhaust sounds, just uploaded a video of my very own Mondial:

(I'm planing to do some more Mondial stuff related clips, so subscribe if you like ;-) )

Happy to hear some comments on how it compares to EU spec.

    Absolutely; same for the 328s.
    - Standard euro: not muted (even if the "original factory exhaust" sound is not that terrific.)
    - German exhaust: slightly more muted than the "standard euro" (My 328 GTS was sold originally in Germany, my 328 GTB in France)
    - Swiss exhaust: most muted of the three (comparison valid before the swiss 3.2 engine got catalysed, and fitted with the KE Jet - the "046" engine, circa mid 1987, which makes comparison with the other two irrelevant afterwards)

AFAIK all the mid-engined V8s (GT4, 308/328, Mondial) are known for being quiet. When I took mine to get a custom exhaust made the chap looked at the standard system and said it was designed that way, even the tips are mini silencers.

Just have my QV on the lift.

Check out, the swiss exhaust hast these tip silencers. The inner parts probably be the same as the EU one:

I'll have to check mine, I'll take photos when I get the car out over the weekend, but those look smaller in internal diameter.

    Hi Guido

Thanks for the picture. Not sure if I see it right, your exhaust tips have not absortion-style holes? Look bigger then mine though.

    Thanks
    Elvis

There are holes inside, but the finish is much better. And the connection between tips and muffler is smoother, not just tack welded in 3 places. I think the first mufflers for mondial are a real piece of art. The later ones, it was "time is money"....that muffler you see here is 40 years old.
