Anybody have an idea roughly how many there would be? italiancar.com.au lists 1450, but thats from 2002 and not sure how accurate they are with their stats. I was once told by the Ferrari salesman here there are about 100 in WA, but I've seen 55-60 myself (on the street, car shows, club meetings etc.) already so I'd say it would be more than that.
Yeah, they are every bleeding where. Drive.com.au lists about 1450 for sale. It's enough to make you want to get something special instead, like, I dunno, a Lambo. Edit: Actually, I believe there are over 100 in SA too. If that is the case, I'd be guessing more like 2000 Aust wide
Haha....I was expecting something like that from you. I've seen 11 Lambo's in Perth, so about 1 Lambo for every 5 Ferraris I see. I remember 360C saying there are about 800 (i think that was the figure) 360's alone, so must be at least 2000 Ferraris in total.
There were more than 2000 about 10yrs ago, more or less. I reckon it would be closer to 3000 these days.
yeah have to be more than 100 here, i only know a few of them personally but over the last few years on adelaide streets i've seen say 15-20 355's, similar number of 360's, a couple TR's, a bunch of 348's, a few 308/328's, half a dozen GT4's... sounds like a lot but there's gotta be way more out there, i don't get out much! how many Lambo's... 3 G's, 2 Diablo's, 1 Espada and a partridge in a pear tree. edit: a few 246's and a Lusso... how many F-cars does GP have?
I'm not sure how many there are in OZ but there will be one more red 1979 308 GTB on the roads of NSW around Xmas that I'm bringing back with me from the UK. I've been working in England for the past seven years and could not bear the thought of leaving my baby behind, especially considering it's just been repainted with new sills, doorskins and deep front spoiler and 16inch wheels. It looks the TITS. Will definitely have to join the club and go on the drive days that I've read about on this forum. Looking forward to geetting home. Later DIFAZ
Hi guys I put the figure at at least around 4000 plus Australia wide, Dont forget there are a lot of older ferrari's from the 1950's & 60's that dont see the light of day. I know of one collector that has 5 vintage ferraris in his garage ranging from 330's to short wheel base 275 a super america & 246 dino. He drives them but rarely attends any club events. I'm sure there are lots more in the same boat. Would be nice if the national register could do a track down of whats out there. Does anyone know what happened to the navy blue BELLGIORNO -NETTIS Barchetta that was on show at the vic GP about 3 years ago, rumour was it was for sale at $500,000. Andrew
Andrew, lots of 50s and 60s Ferraris? there are probably around a hundred if that..... There are no big numbers until you get to the Dino 246. The Belgiorno Nettis car is possibly still owned by him and was advertised quire extensively. The body is not original as it had an ugly English Abbot body when new. It would be worth far more had it been bodied by Touring from new!
If you want something different, get one of these - amazing car ! (British too - well kinda) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Saw a DB9 Volante myself recently.......its got nothing on a Ferrari or Lambo, but at least it was red. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
of course he did but it could be close, and he's probably got most of the chassis numbers and done the alignments on them
Red is not it's colour. Much prefer the grey. 360stimo - Aren't you getting a new toy and loosing the Aston?
Aston is my dads, it was delievered to London so i have been playing with it for a few days, and so far i have paid for it. Seriously awsome car, i love it. I have a Gallardo Spyder ordered coming early next year, but if i dont like it, im going straight to Aston to get one of these ! Have to say, i think i prefer it to a 430 Spyder (which i think is a great car)
Looks rubbish in red - in my opinion, the Aston DB9 is by far the best looking car on the road today, only exception is the AMV8 maybe. And the noise these things make, ooohhhhh
they look old and heavy , had a VERY close experience with one several weeks back and although it is pretty it is not very impressive (I love the older Astons, nearly bought a DB6 and drove a mates AMV8 in the 70s). Sound is good but too muted for my liking, the thing that probably ruined the db9 for me was that it was next to a Bugatti 35b being driven on the road circuit at full blat 4 wheel drifting...just gorgeous
